On Friday the 30th August the St Finbars Community came together for a school liturgy to celebrate Father’s Day. This day was to honor and give thanks to God for all fathers, grandfathers and the men in our lives who love and care for us like fathers.
Father's Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds and the influence of fathers in society.
Our liturgy began at 9:15 am in the parish hall. Children sat with their families listening to gospel readings about fatherhood and stories of what father figures do for us and how that impacts us in our lives.
The P&F hosted a BBQ breakfast, in the bottom playground, and our dads had the opportunity to play soccer with their children and other fun games. Following school tradition, students and their fathers wore their favourite team jersey on this special day.
Overall our students and fathers enjoyed a good sausage sizzle and Dads had a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with their children.
