Nagle College Launches New STEM Scholarship for Future Innovators
Nagle College Blacktown has announced the launch of the “Christine Howe STEM Academic Scholarship”, a new opportunity designed to support and inspire young women passionate about STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Students enrolling in Year 7 from 2026 are eligible to apply for the scholarship, which reflects the College’s ongoing commitment to excellence in learning within a supportive Catholic community.

Today our Stage 3 students had the wonderful opportunity to take part in a session led by the Butterfly Foundation, which focussed on teaching students the essence of being Body Bright; having a positive body image and a sense of wellbeing. 🌹 The Month of the Holy Rosary 🌹 Throughout October, our school community has been praying the Holy Rosary each afternoon. Our students have been learning about the Mysteries of the Rosary; the special moments from the lives of Jesus and Mary that help us reflect on God’s love and faithfulness. Each day, we focus on a Mystery, Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, or Glorious, and take time to think about what they teach us about hope and faith. Families are warmly invited to send rosary beads to school with their children to enhance this prayerful experience. Having a set of beads provides a beautiful, tactile way for students to connect more deeply with the rhythm and meaning of the Rosary. Together, we continue to grow in faith, reflection, and peace during this sacred month.

🌞 Welcome Back to Term 4! 🌞 What a joy it’s been to see our students return this week with big smiles, plenty of enthusiasm, and a readiness to learn and play! The playgrounds have been filled with laughter, friendship, and even a few daring monkey bar adventures. Term 4 promises to be one of sunshine, joy and learning, a wonderful way to finish the year together as a community. 🌍✨ Learning and Leading Beyond Borders! ✨🌍 During the closing weeks of Term 3, our principal, Mrs Clarke was representing St Finbar’s at KU Leuven Belgium, taking part in a special study experience as part of the ECSI (Enhancing Catholic School Identity) Project. This incredible opportunity brought together Catholic educators from around the world to explore how schools can continue to grow in faith, strengthen identity and build community in a way that speaks to the hearts of today’s learners. Through analysis of our school survey data, shared discussions, and time for reflection, Mrs Clarke has been diving deep into what it means to live and lead with Catholic values in contemporary education — something that sits at the very heart of who we are at St Finbar’s. We can’t wait to welcome her home and hear all about the ideas, inspiration, and learnings she will be sharing, and enriching our community with.

🎉✨ **What a way to end the term!** ✨🎉 On Friday we came together as a school community to celebrate St Finbar’s Day, and what a celebration it was! We began the day with a truly beautiful liturgy honouring the life of St Finbar and reflecting on the way his example continues to inspire us to live with faith, compassion, and courage. From there, we were delighted to acknowledge our students who consistently live out the charisms of our school, shining as leaders through their kindness, generosity, and inclusivity. These moments reminded us of the many ways our young people light the way for others each day. 🌟 And then… the celebrations turned into pure joy! Our playground came alive with fun, games, and a carnival-like atmosphere; laughter, colour, and excitement filling every corner of the school. It was the perfect way to finish the term, celebrating not only St Finbar but also the strong sense of community we share. Wishing our community a safe and peaceful holiday break.
